Eric Church kicks off busy weekend in GF

Country music star Eric Church brought his “Gather Again” tour to Grand Forks Friday night. Church hit the Alerus Center stage 44 minutes late but ran through a set list of his chart topping hits much to the approval of the throng of fans in attendance.

Church often paused in between songs to interact with the crowd during a two set performance. The concert also featured a four sided multi-level stage that allowed the award winning artist to face the audience at various times during the show.

It was a busy night/morning for Alerus Center staff who had to tear down the stage…lighting…remove the protective floor…clean the building…and ready the football field for today’s game between UND and NDSU. Tailgating is already underway. The game starts at 2:00 p.m.

The 20th season of the REA opens tonight with the return of UND hockey. The Fighting Hawks host Bemidji State in an exhibition game. The puck drops at 6:07 p.m.
