NWS updates flood outlook for the Red River Valley

The risk of significant flooding in the Red River Valley remains quite low this spring according to an updated outlook released today (Thursday) by the National Weather Service.

According to the N-W-S streamflow levels are running 25 to 75 percent of normal throughout the basin.   Snowfall through late February is well below long term winter season normal amounts.

The 50-50 crest outlook for Grand Forks is 23.1 feet.  Flood stage is 28.

Climate outlooks indicate an increased risk for near normal temperatures and precipitation as the region moves into the early spring period.
