Border Patrol agents arrest Romanians in ND

By Pat Sweeney Mar 31, 2021 | 3:33 PM

Two Romanian nationals were arrested by U-S Border Patrol agents from the Grand Forks Sector … after they illegally entered the U-S in a vehicle at a closed Port of Entry in northwest North Dakota.

Authorities say, at about 7:30 PM last Friday, agents from the Portal (ND) station were alerted that a vehicle illegally entered the U-S about 40 miles away at the Ambrose (ND) Port of Entry, which was closed.

The agents stopped the vehicle just south of the Ambrose port.

After questioning the occupants, the Border Patrol determined that they were both citizens of Romania … and that they had just crossed the border from Canada without admission or parole.

Both subjects were transported to the Portal station for further processing.  They were ordered removed from the U-S and returned to Canada on Saturday.
