Groundbreaking ceremonies were held today (Wednesday) on a new Red River BMX track in Grand Forks. The track will be located to the south of the Alerus Center between 42nd and I-29. In addition to being the new home for over 100 youth racers the track will play host to local…state…and regional races. Board member Danny Weigel says a nationally known BMX subcontractor will be on site next week to help jumpstart the construction. Weigel says the track will feature an all new design.
Thanks to naming rights the facility will be known as the Hugo’s Raceway. The goal is to have the race track ready by June 1st.
