Grand Forks County to require facemasks

By Doug Barrett Aug 18, 2021 | 10:48 AM

Starting Monday all people entering a Grand Forks County Building will be required to mask up.

The Commission voted this week to require visitors and staff to wear face coverings due to increasing case counts of COVID-19.   Masks will also be available on site.

The commission also directed the county’s human resource department to survey employees on their vaccination status.  The motion did not sit well with at least one department head who questioned the need for the information.

After 125 days of being in the “green” or low risk for COVID-19 the Grand Forks Dashboard slipped into “yellow” or moderate risk on Tuesday.

In North Dakota active case counts now top eleven-hundred – the highest tally since mid-April.  Last November the active case count in North Dakota was 10,400.
