Grand Forks has been stuck in “green” on the local health dashboard for seven straight days. The low risk level for COVID-19 is a welcome sign for health officials as vaccination efforts continue to ramp up.
As of Monday 12% of the local population has been fully vaccinated – a level that is above the statewide average of 9.8%
Michael Dulitz of the Grand Forks Health Department says all the trend lines seem to be moving in the right direction. “The only thing that causes me concern right now is the unknown with the new COVID variants.”
Dulitz says he would expect shot numbers to increase in the coming weeks with a third vaccine entering the market.

Meanwhile…the North Dakota Department of Health is reminding healthcare providers that COVID-19 vaccination of out-of-state residents must be limited to only those who live or work in North Dakota. COVID-19 vaccination is also permitted for out-of-state residents who are already established patients of North Dakota healthcare providers.
