The Director of the Space Development Agency will make a brief stop at the Grand Sky UAS Park later this afternoon (2 pm). In announcing the visit U.S. Senator John Hoeven says Dr. Derek Tournear will review efforts to establish a satellite operations center in Grand Forks and the potential link with UAS operations in the Red River Valley.
The latest building project at the Grand Sky UAS Business Park won’t have anything to do with flying drones. The County Commission this week agreed to spend $1.3 million dollars on a 40 x 160 foot storage building to house Grand Sky’s fire trucks and other equipment. The price-tag includes site preparation…asphalt…and concrete pavement. Sand Steel Building Company submitted the low bid. The work will be funded through 2019 state allocated funds designated for the project.
The UAS-focused Grand Sky is a business park situated on 217 acres on the Grand Forks Air Force Base.
