Grand Forks voters are assured of seeing two new members on the city council in June.
Monday was the deadline to file for office and races are set in Ward 2 and Ward 4. The Ward 2 ballot will see Rebecca Osowski and Mathew Ternus battle for the seat being vacated by Katie Dachtler.
In Ward 4 incumbent Jeannie Mock opted not to run for re-election. Three names will appear on the ballot: Ward Johnson…Tricia Lunski…and Harry Samuelson.
In Ward 6 Dana Sande is running unopposed.
In the race for Grand Forks Park Board four people have filed for three open seats. The candidates include: Terry Dvorak…Greg LaDoucer… Tim Skaperud…and Jordan McIntyre.
There will be no shortage of candidates to choose from on the June ballot for Grand Forks School Board. A total of 23 people – including two incumbents – filed for five open seats by Monday’s 4:00 p.m. deadline. Current members who opted to not seek re-election include Doug Carpenter…Chris Douthit…and Shannon Mikula. Bill Palmiscno and Jackie Hassett are running again. All the positions are four-year terms. The election is set for June 14th.
