The sheriff of Minnesota’s Norman County — Jeremy Thornton — died Thursday morning at his home at age 53.
Thornton had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early December and was placed under hospice care on Wednesday.
Thornton served as Norman County sheriff since 2010.
His funeral will be held Wednesday in Ada.
